About him
Since this is a Classic FM dating service, let's start with the fact that I'm a classical music lover, and music has played a big role in my life both professionally and as a hobby. I'm looking for someone who cares about it too. As an enthusiastic choral singer (I'm a member of a famous choral society), being in a choir with my match would be a great common interest to share.
What am I like? Well, people have said that I’m ‘honest to a fault’, ‘wise’, ‘authentic’, ‘the nicest person I’ve ever known’ (really!), that I have a ‘wicked sense of humour’, that I ‘exude goodness’(!) and that I’m ‘intelligent, with a very analytical approach’. I can sometimes be too forthright for my own good, but I’m always truthful and I stand by my principles. I may have a strong Yorkshire accent, but I’m well spoken, polite, articulate and an excellent communicator.
Interests? Well, I’m a very well balanced person: as much a scientist as an artist. On the artistic side, apart from the music I’m a good writer and designer. On the more scientific end of the scale, I’m very interested in computers and technology. My work and hobbies both seem to involve the overlap between these areas. I have separate degrees in music, maths and history.
I’m really not interested in sports, though, and I especially loathe football! I like the finer things in life, particularly high quality food. I’m a big film fan and will watch almost anything, though I do have a penchant for sci-fi. I enjoy travel and photography, though I’m currently hampered by being the full-time carer for my elderly parents, who now need a lot from me.
Politically, I’m right of centre and have the sorts of views that, a couple of decades ago, were shared by the mainstream majority and wouldn't raise an eyebrow. Today, apparently, they make me a far-right extremist thug, according to the political elite and the mainstream media – so if you're a woke leftie, block me and move on to the next profile now.

I’m looking for someone who shares my basic views and outlook, because compatibility is what it’s all about! Politically we should be on similar pages, and I’m looking for someone with whom I can do things, share interests and experiences and have intelligent conversation. If we can share interests and activities relating to classical music, so much the better.
I’m fairly old-fashioned and traditional in many ways, and I’d hope to find someone who’s quite feminine and who both looks and dresses like a woman. The person inside is all that really matters, but good presentation does help!
I do strongly dislike both tattoos and piercings. I’ll tolerate a single tasteful pair of earrings, but I’m afraid that I find anything much more than that quite off-putting.
I quite like chatterboxes (though maybe in moderation!) because I’m generally not one myself (unless something’s set me off!), and I appreciate someone who’s better than me at keeping conversations flowing. But good communication is a must, as is complete honesty and openness – and, of course, a good sense of humour is essential.
For the moment, I'm afraid I'm quite restricted in what I can do because of my situation, caring for my elderly parents. It'd be lovely if I had someone to go out with occasionally, to have a meal or go to the cinema or whatever. And maybe things could eventually develop from there, in the fulness of time…
